Ballynahinch Road scheme to begin

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that a £100,000 improvements scheme for Ballynahinch Road in Lisburn which is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 26.

He warned of road closures during the work which is expected to be completed in two weeks,

The resurfacing scheme will take place between Kensington Park and Lisnoe Road. Work on the scheme is expected to be complete by Friday, June 6.

Danny Kennedy said: “This scheme will increase the life of the road and greatly improve the strength and ride quality of the carriageway.”

Works will commence each morning from approximately 8.00am and continue until 6.00pm.

To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors it will be necessary to put in place a road closure.

All diversions will be clearly signposted.

Roads Service has carefully planned the works operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience to the public, however, drivers should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time.
