BB on parade

THE Londonderry Battalion Boys' Brigade Parade took place on Sunday to Leckpatrick Presbyterian Church.

A total of 10 companies took part in the parade, with Boys representing Dungiven, Banagher, Magheramason, Waterside, Kilfennan, Ebrington, Glendermott, Leckpatrick, Donemana and Eglinton.

Companies meet in all these areas, with each offering a great programme for boys aged from four to 21 years of age.

The home battalion was privileged to have members of the Londonderry Old Boys Association on Parade as well. This long-established group of ‘Old Boys’ meet on a monthly basis in Ebrington Hall and offer much needed support to the work of Boys Brigade.

The theme of this year’s parade was 'New Beginnings', which was particularly appropriate for the Battalion as it coincided with the retirement of Don McClay, who was Battalion President and Ivor Ferguson Vice-President.

The replacement officers are Glen Millar, who is the new Chairman,and Mark Smith, who is the vice-chairman.
