The Coleraine side started the match slowly, and found themselves on the back foot.

This was concerning for the large travelling support, but their nerves were soon put at ease as Peacocks started to settle.

A foul in the box saw the Under 12's being awarded a penalty, up stepped Daniel O'Kane who stuck a firm ball, only to see it being saved. Daniel Bradley whipped in the resulting corner, up popped Andy Donnell to open the scoring.

This gave the Coleraine side confidence, and goal number two came soon after. Ross McElfatrick skipped past the Carniny left back to slot in a superb ball for man of the moment Andy Donnell.

Tesco Cup semi final for Under 13's

Bertie Peacocks Under 13's reached the semi final of the N.I. Tesco Cup thanks to a 3-1 win against Aquinas.

Bertie's started brightly, but went behind as early as the third minute. This was the only shot Aquinas had in the half. Peacocks pushed for an equaliser and nearly got it when good play from Mitchell and Campbell on the left set up Kane, but he could only watch as his shot was blocked on it's way to goal.

Law, also had bad luck, he hit a free kick against the wall and from the re-bound volleyed into the keepers arms.

With two players missing, Peacock's really had a tough task against a very good Maiden City outfit. In the opening exchanges City made the Peacock's work hard, but the Bertie'd defence held firm.

A snap shot from Henry had the home keeper flapping and as the half progressed their wasn't much to report.

With five mins to go to half time City took the lead a great through ball.

The second half started with controversy - a free kick was given to the Coleraine side outside the box, which should have been inside the box. The Coleraine side had no luck with the free.

Maiden City were playing very well, but Peacock's on the counter attack kept this tie on a knife edge.

There was more controversy as the home side scored with 12 players on the pitch. This was a bitter pill to swallow, but to Peacock's credit they played to the last whistle.
