Burst pipe costs

THE repair bill for burst water pipes at Altnagelvin and Gransha over the Christmas period was £30,000.

Health Minister Michael McGimpsey provided a breakdown of the cost of repairs at hospitals suffering burst pipes as a result of the freezing weather and subsequent thaw over December 23 - January 5.

The bill for repairs at Altnagelvin was £26,000; at Gransha it was £4,000.

The bill at Erne Hospital was £200; at Tyrone County Hospital it was £7,500; and at Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital it was £2,500. The details were revealed by the Minister in response to a query tabled at the Stormont Assembly.
