Shezzell Horner and Sara Robb, both 31, will be competing in the organisation’s White Collar Boxing night on October 27.

Both Shezzell and Sara are undergoing a six-week intensive training and conditioning programme at Monkstown Boxing Club, along with a team of other young professionals from across Northern Ireland.

Their training will culminate in the TinyLife Big Fight at La Mon Hotel and Country Club, Belfast.

The event is a world away from their day jobs as coffee shop manager and final year mental health nursing student at Queen’s University.

Shezzell said: “A few of my friends have participated in white collar boxing and thoroughly enjoyed the training and the experience, so I decided this year I would like to do it.

“I have a healthy happy 11-year-old son Zak who has just started secondary school, but some of my friends haven’t been as fortunate and have experienced premature birth, so I’m aware of the important work TinyLife does for families at this critical time.

Sara, has a 13-year-old daughter Taylor, added: “The training is such a contrast from my studies at Queen’s and part time job in Castleview Private Nursing Home.

“Each year I try to give something back to the community by participating in charity events and having watched my brother participate in TinyLife’s White Collar Boxing event last year he challenged me to take part. It has been a fantastic experience.”
