‘Catwalk for Wells’ event in Ballykelly tomorrow

The event aims to raise money for a scheme to help bring clean water to rural areas of Zimbabwe, where Connie’s mother Privelege grew up.

The 17-year-old, a fashion model, said: “I personally wanted to help set this up as I have been modelling for just a short seven months but my career has shot up. I’ve met amazing people that I know I would love to help out with such a great cause.

“The event has been set up by my Mum, Privilege, for an issue that was very close to her heart.

“As she grew up in Zimbabwe with a big family on a small farm, she knows the struggles that

the lack of clean water can bring. Walking to the river for miles, there and back, with a large pot full of infested water on their head just to get the little hydration they can; never mind thinking of all of the deadly diseases that the water could be teaming with.

“She wants to bridge the distance between the innocent families and the clean water they are desperate for. She set this up to make a difference and all she needs is support!”

Local fashion outlets have backed the young model and Limavady Grammar student’s campaign.
