Christy returns to Londonderry

FOLK legend Christy Moore is to play two shows in Londonderry in November.

He has just confirmed he'll play two shows at the venue this year on November 25 and 26. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 14 at 9.30am and will be available from the Millennium Forum Box Office Telephone (028) 71 264455.

Millennium Forum Chief Executive, David McLaughlin, said: "We are delighted to welcome Christy Moore back to our stage this year for what promises to be one of the highlights of our forthcoming Autumn/Winter season of events.

"He has always enjoyed sell-out shows at the Forum and I'm sure that his huge following here will show their support once again for this legendary artist.

"The new Sept-Dec brochure will be announced soon and is already shaping up to be a memorable one, with big shows like Riverdance, Fame The Musical and Oklahoma! already on sale.

"It is always our aim to bring top quality acts to the people of Derry and beyond and I look forward to welcoming other world class performers to our city over the next few months."

Christy Moore is one of the most compelling and inspirational musicians Ireland has ever seen. He has a universal fan-base that stretches from Beijing to Boston, Auckland to Aughrim.

Over his forty year career, Christy Moore has given us a phenomenal 30 albums and still continues to entertain, cementing him as an Irish icon.

Already in 2010, Christy Moore has performed multiple sold out shows including his first appearance at Belfast's Odyssey Arena, the new Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin and a residency at Vicar St. He also won Best Irish Male at this year's Meteor Awards.

Declan Sinnott is one of Ireland's most gifted musicians. He helped to form the pioneering and innovative band, Moving Hearts, alongside compatriot Christy Moore.

A tight bond was formed between these two creative and talented musicians, a bond which continues today as is evident in their live performances.
