City motorists asked how much they pay

Londonderry motorists are being asked to reveal how much they pay for their car insurance before the Competition and Markets Authority publishes the findings of its investigation into the private motor insurance market.

The Consumer Council has launched a new online survey to gauge the market.

Eimear Duffy, Policy Officer for Money Affairs at the Consumer Council said: “We continue to monitor the car insurance market and consumers’ views on the cost of their car insurance in NI.

“We are keen to gather as much information as possible, given that NI was recently quoted as the second most expensive region in the UK for car insurance premiums.

“We are calling on all drivers to complete the survey; it takes just one minute. This snapshot survey will help to shape the Consumer Council’s ongoing work following the completion of the Competition and Markets Authority investigation.”

The survey will close on Friday (September 19).
