‘Classic’ car owner fined £10
At the Magistrates Court in Coleraine on Friday March 2, 48-year-old Peter Tweed of Eastburn Drive, pleaded guity to keeping a vehicle on a road without tax.
The offence was detected at Eastburn Drive on August 17 last year.

Hide AdThe defendant told the court the car was only out on the street for a very short period of time and in fact the 1986 ‘classic’ vehicle had only done 81 miles in all the years he had it and the car has now been sold
He had to pay tax arrears of £16.89 and costs of £16 but in the circumstances of the case, District Judge Richard Wilson, said he was only fining him £10 rather than the normal £50.
