Contraband seizures up
PRISON officers recorded 311 contraband seizures in HMP Magilligan last year - up on 285 finds in 2009.
Drugs or tablets accounted for the largest amount of seizures (52) followed by mobile phones/chargers (43).
Thirty-seven of the finds uncovered unkown substances/liquids. Booze, blades, TVs, improvised smoking devices and make-up/toiletries were also amongst the items found by prison officers in searches at the County Londonderry jail during the course of 2010.
