Cookstown man charged with assaulting and falsely imprisoning woman against her will

A Cookstown man has appeared in court charged with assaulting and falsely imprisoning a woman against her will.

Laukinaitis Daivaras, 29, from Stewart Avenue, stands accused of the offence on August 23.

A constable from the PSNI told the court that he believed that he could connect the accused to the charges before the court.

District Judge John Meehan released the accused on £300 bail to return to court on October 14.

The defendant is not permitted to contact the injured party, partake of alcohol or enter licenced premises.

He must also submit to a police breath test.

Mr Colin Donnelly appeared on the behalf of the defendant.
