Crime prevention session for Coleraine town centre retailers

A unique locally focused free training session to inform and advise businesses on tools that can be used to prevent retail crime on their premises will be held in Coleraine Town Hall on Tuesday, October 15 at 5.30pm.

A Safer Coleraine spokesperson said: “Safer Coleraine in conjunction with PSNI have organised this vital training session in the run up to the busy Christmas trading season.

“Prevention of crime such as cash scams, handling counterfeit notes and theft are all crimes that can affect a retailer’s profits and having all levels of staff trained to recognise such crimes is more important than ever.

“Safer Coleraine have developed various tools to assist in crime prevention such as CCTV & Radiolink provision. However working with local PSNI and Retailers Against Crime NI to provide face to face training for your staff is great way to keep up to date with the crime trends happening right now. I would encourage all retailer owners and staff to register their interest and come along and learn the skills needed to prevent such crimes happening.”
