Appeal after ‘attempted murder’
Detectives in Strand Road are appealing for information following the attempted murder of police officers in the Creggan area of Londonderry on Saturday evening.
Police were conducting a search operation in the Rathmore Park area when an explosive device was thrown at their vehicle shortly before 5pm. Significant blast damage was caused to the vehicle, however none of the police officers were injured. Stones were also thrown at Police in the area by a number of youths.
