Knife robber strikes in Ballymena - police appeal

Detectives in Ballymena are appealing for information following an armed robbery that occurred yesterday evening(Wednesday 7 March).

At approximately 8.20pm, a man entered a closed commercial premises - understood to be a training salon in the Gilmore Street area - and demanded money. The male owner of the shop handed over a sum of cash once the man produced a knife. No-one was injured in the incident but the owner and his friend who were in the shop at the time were left badly shaken.

The armed man is described as being approximately 6ft tall and of stocky build. He was wearing a black hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and a dark coloured scarf over his nose and mouth.
