Sentence deferred

SENTENCE was deferred in a case of a Lurgan man last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Eighteen year old Curtis Lutton, of Dill Avenue, Lurgan, had admitted charges of assaulting police and resisting police on March 13.

The court heard police were called to an address at Dill Avenue concerning a domestic incident.

The defendant became aggressive and had to be restrained by three officers. He hit one officer on the side of the face and struggled with police as he was being taken to the police vehicle.

The case had previously been adjourned so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.

His solicitor said he was a young man with significant problems and a difficult upbringing.

Lutton agreed that this should not have happened and has shown remorse.

District Judge, Mr Alan White, deferred sentence for six months for Lutton to “show me that you can stay out of trouble.”
