Three PSNI sexassault charges

THREE PSNI officers have been charged with either rape, sexual or indecent assault in the past three years, the Sentinel can reveal.

One officer was charged with rape and two counts of sexual assault, another officer was charged with sexual assault and another was charged with indecent assault.

The PSNI revealed the details in response to a Freedom of Information request.

A statement revealed: “Three officers have been charged at court with rape or sexual or indecent assault since 2009. One officer has been charged with rape and two counts of sexual assault, one officer has been charged with sexual assault and one officer has been charged with indecent assault.”

The PSNI added: “One officer was found guilty of indecent assault. This officer tendered his resignation prior to sentencing.”
