Damaged mother's windscreen

A man who admitted damaging his mother's car windscreen is to be sentenced.

Michael Ferguson (18), of Redwood Court, Dunmurry, pleaded guilty to a charge of causing criminal damage, which occurred on September 6.

The court heard that Ferguson has repaid the money for the damage.

District Judge Rosie Waters ordered a probation report, she said that this is an opportunity to obtain help from probation services.

“I know that people have trouble with their teenagers and it’s very difficult to access help. I think that the only time they can get help is from a pre-sentence report or probation.

“Sometimes I feel like a social worker here. I don’t think the injured party wishes her son to have a criminal record.”

The case was adjourned to November 11 for the probation service to compile a pre-sentence report.
