Dunhill Road disruption

Northern Ireland Electricity is starting work on an underground cable project along the Dunhill Road this week.

The project involves installing over 12km of high voltage underground electricity cable, 9km of which will be on the hard shoulder of the Dunhill road to connect Capital Dynamics’ 21MW windfarm on the Windy Hill Road outside the town, to a main substation in Coleraine.

The work, which will be carried out by NIE and contractors KPL, will take approximately seven months and traffic control will be in operation at all times. Two clear lanes will be maintained at peak travel times.
