Ebrington congregation on RTE radio

THE congregation at Ebrington Presbyterian Church appeared on radio at the weekend, and the broadcast, for those who missed it, is still available on the iPlayer.

On Sunday last the company Kairos, which handles outside broadcast material for RTE, visited the church and set up shop in Rankin Hall, where the acoustics were a little more conducive, and on Sunday just past the broadcast went out, with just two minutes being cut from the 48 minute evening service.

Minister at Ebrington, Rev Paul Linkins, admitted to being a bit apprehensive: “You know the microphones are there and the folks from RTE, but I must say, Roisin Hunt from RTE was great and she made everybody feel relaxed.”

In addition to two payers, two Bible readings, Rev Linkins’s talk as well as a testimony, there was music led by the praise band, and the hymns were ‘Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God’, ‘My Jesus My Saviour’ and ‘Thine is the Glory’.

“Everyone enjoyed it. We had in the region of 80 people in the congregation which turned out to be about 30 more than the ‘normal’ evening service congregation. The whole of the evening service was recorded and in the end they only cut about two minutes from it. It is all there with the exception of one reading,” said a delighted Rev Linkins.
