The awards were launched by Girls Aloud singer and West End star Kimberley Walsh earlier this year, who Mr Hamilton could meet at the awards ceremony if he triumphs in his age category.

The awards will be held at London’s 8 Northumberland Avenue on Tuesday, October 7. All age category winners will win a VIP makeover, with one overall winner taking home the ultimate accolade in specs wearing.

Mr Hamilton is one of eight regional finalist chosen within Northern Ireland and is one of two finalists for the 25-39 age category.

Judith Ball, store director, Coleraine Specsavers store, says: ‘We would like to wish Mr Hamilton all the very best for the final round of judging. It is such a great achievement to have reached the final eight within Northern Ireland. Mr Hamilton really wears his Specsavers glasses well.”
