It came about after Lurgan-born woman Janine Hogg was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in a year.

So that she won’t feel alone during this part of her life, Janine’s stepmum Pauline Hogg and her aunt Sharon Harrison will also be getting their heads shaved.

Some of the men in the family will also be getting their hair dyed pink on Saturday. Set to benefit from the event are Cancer Research UK.

Janine said: “We want to hear big cheers when we shave our heads not tears. We want it to be a joyous occasion to show that families stick together.

“Please donate whatever you can afford, it is for a wonderful cause. Together we can help beat cancer!”
