High winds cause havoc on Lisburn roads

HIGH winds caused havoc for traffic across Lisburn on Monday.

The Glenavy Road between Brokerstown Road and Bensons Road was closed due to a fallen power lines.

Dunmurry Lane was closed due to fallen trees, and there were report of further blockages at Ballyskeagh and the Hillhall Road.

Traffic signals were not working on the Moira Road at the junction of the Halftown Road outside Lisburn due to a power failure.

Throughout the day gust of up to 70mph were being reported with a 30% risk of gusts between 75 and 80mph.
