International Peace Day marked by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council marked International Peace Day with an event on Monday, September 21.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, Councillor Thomas Hogg joined with people from all over the world who were marking the occasion and showing their commitment to peace.
Councillor Hogg, who lit a flame to mark the event, remarked on how important it is to remember people who have been affected by conflict.
“Days like today give us time out to remember what it is like for people who suffer the effects of conflict and look at what each of us can do to contribute to a peaceful future,” he said.
