Join ‘hearty’ walkers and step out for a worthy cause

NOW that spring has finally arrived, people are being invited to join the ‘hearty walkers’ at Hazelbank Park on Saturday, April 27 to help raise funds for the work of local health charity, NI Chest Heart & Stroke.

The walk is organised by the Glengormley Fundraising Support Group, which has been holding events in the area for the past 27 years.

There are various options for people of all abilities including a one mile, three mile or four mile walk, from The White House to Hazelbank, Whiteabbey or Loughshore Park, Jordanstown and back again to Whitehouse Park.

The entry fee of £5, which includes refreshments, is payable on the day or entrants can pre-register.

Registration is at 11am at The White House, Whitehouse Park and parking is available nearby.

Valerie Saunders, the charity’s fundraising co-ordinator said: “it’s an excellent opportunity to enjoy the local scenery whilst taking exercise and raising funds to support the local work of NI Chest Heart & Stroke.”
