Library to host light box

Carnlough Library is inviting the public to beat the winter blues with light therapy.

The clocks went back one hour on Sunday October 25, so it will be lighter in the mornings and dark earlier in the evenings. Carnlough Library will mark this change of season by hosting a lightbox during the autumn and winter months to give people the chance to top up on daylight despite the shortening of the days. Lightboxes simulate sunlight, and exposure to more light can help ensure a constant, stable, sleeping-waking rhythm, improving the quality of sleep. The lightbox will be free for anyone to use. The initiative is supported by the Health in Mind project. Contact Carnlough Library on 028 2888 5552 or email: [email protected]
