Lisburn man fined £5,000 for planning offence

A LOCAL man was fined by Lisburn Magistrates Court this week.

Mr Jackie Tate of Moira Road, Lisburn was fined £5,000 plus £103 court costs at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to non-compliance with a DoE Planning Enforcement Notice.

Mr Tate was charged with the unauthorised use of land at 262 Moira Road, Lisburn as a scrap yard and for the deposition of controlled waste (as defined in the Waste and contaminated land (NI) Order 1997); the storage of end of life vehicles; the storage of vehicles, plant and machinery and the repair of vehicles, making a material change in the use of the said lands.
