Little girl from Glens dies following sudden illness

The youngster was reportedly admitted to the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine in Sunday but tragically passed away.

Leah, who had a twin brother, was a pupil at Barnish Primary School.

Parish priest, Fr Raymond Fulton, told the Irish News the Glens community was heartbroken by the death.

He said: “She was a lovely child.

“It’s a tragedy for a six-year-old who was so well liked and had a great personality.”

Independent councillor Padraig McShane knows the family.

He added: “There is nothing we can say to take away the pain.”

Leah’s funeral will take place in Cushendall on Thursday.
