Local student speaks out on demise of Ballymena Raceway
The raceway is, I believe, a valued part of Ballymena town, when the racing season is on it brings business to local petrol station, chip shops and Chineses.
I can honestly say that the raceway keeps a lot of the young people which go to the racing out of the pubs on a Friday night.

Hide AdI have met some of the nicest people and it even helped me in my career choice.
Ballymena on a Friday and Saturday night has little to offer, instead of drinking.
I really believe Ballymena would be losing out if it was shut down.
A lot of the local business sponsor drivers and it really is a family event, me, my dad and brother all go faithfully.

Hide AdI have gone to Ballymena football matches and you can count on your fingers how many supporters there are.
At the racing on a normal night there would be hundred cars and drivers not including supporters.
I work locally and the racing in Ballymena means I can go after finishing work. The racing really bring friends and growing families together.
I really do think Ballymena are silly.
