Local yoga student Naomi graduates

LOCAL woman Naomi Robinson recently graduated as a yoga teacher with the Yoga Fellowship of Northern Ireland (YFNI). YFNI’s Patron, Moira Harper, was delighted to present her with a Diploma in Teaching at the recent graduation.

Naomi is one of eight graduating from the Fellowship’s Teacher Training Course which is the longest running one in Northern Ireland. YFNI has trained teachers for over 30 years in the Bihar tradition and keeps pastoral care at the centre of its course.

On graduating Naomi said: “This yoga course teaches you every aspect needed and encourages your own personal development. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to putting my training into practice.”

Naomi undertook two years of part-time study amounting to over 600 hours. In addition she was assessed through course work and teaching practise. To ensure a well-rounded education; during her two years Naomi studied Posture work, Breathing techniques, Philosophy, Anatomy & Physiology, Principles of Teaching, Relaxation techniques and Stress Awareness. To complement these, part of the course covered business development, marketing and First Aid training - all teaching members of YFNI are expected to hold a valid first aid certificate.
