McVeigh jailed for disorderly behaviour
Sean McVeigh, 33, was due to appeal his conviction at Craigavon County Court but a defence lawyer told the court that after taking ‘specific instructions’ he was withdrawing the appeal at which point Judge Stephen Fowler QC affirmed the three month jail term.
Earlier this month McVeigh, from Victoria Street, Lurgan, was convicted of disorderly behaviour at the Rectory Road in the town on 9 June last year.
Despite being jailed for the disorderly behaviour, McVeigh is on bail accused of the murder of prison officer David Black and possessing an AK47 assault rifle on 1 November 2012.
