MYSTERY OVER INJURED MANMan remains seriously ill two weeks after being found in garden

MYSTERY still surrounds how a 46 year-old-man who was found in a garden in Lisburn over two weeks ago suffered serious injuries to his face and body.

The injured man is still seriously ill at Belfast City Hospital and police are anxious to talk to anyone who may have seen him or can help them establish what happened.

He was discovered in Beechland Drive by police following up a call from a woman who said she had seen a man lying in the garden of a house in the area.

He was suffering from severe injuries to his face and body.

The man was initially taken to Lagan Valley Hospital but was later transferred to the City Hospital where he was initially in intensive care.

His family have expressed their concerns to the police about how he came to be hurt and say they believe the injuries may be the result of an assault.

Police set up a crime scene but say they have still not established exactly what happened to him. The man was last seen in the Beechland Drive area shortly before midnight on Thursday, April 22.

He is described as being approximately 5’10” tall, thin build with short grey hair and dark eyebrows. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms with white trainers at the time.

Detectives are keen to talk to anyone who may have seen the man, who has information about his movements or can help police establish how he came to be injured.
