New lease of life for old play facility

A LOCAL play park is to receive a facelift, after the council announced it would be updating the decades-old facilities.

The current play equipment at Newpark, Magheramorne had been condemned after an independent check - commissioned by the council - was carried out recently by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

A council spokeswoman told the Larne Times: "Currently the playground is left with minimal equipment. But very shortly, the Parks Section will be replacing the pieces which have been removed with updated versions of the same, and looking at the addition of some new pieces of equipment in consultation with the community."
