‘Save a life by signing up as an organ donor’
His efforts have already raised thousands of pounds for good causes including the Denise Carter Foundation, which was set up in memory of his late wife, who passed away five years ago after suffering a brain haemorrhage during childbirth.
The donation of Denise’s organs saved the lives of five other people - something which has inspired Steve to encourage more people to sign up to become organ donors.

Hide AdChallenges three and four of Steve’s ‘1 GOAL = 9 Challenges’ fundraising effort took place recently.
The father-of-four and 19 other brave souls abseiled down the Europa Hotel in Belfast dressed as super heroes. Their efforts raised £1,000.
And on May 5, Steve walked nine miles of the Belfast Marathon course, completing the route in two hours.
Through the nine challenges Steve is also aiming to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation.

Hide Ad“This has helped me and my four children through the grieving process, and doing these challenges has kept Denise’s spirit alive,” he said. “So our message to everyone is ‘speak up and save a life by being a organ donor’.”
His fifth challenge, scheduled to take place next month, will involve playing nine holes of golf in each of the nine counties of Ulster in just one day.
