School reunion a “great success”

A HIGHLY successful schools reunion was held in Limavady recently, with former pupils of the Limavady High School and the ‘Limavady Tech’ meeting at a special event at the town’s rugby club.

Sandra Jones, who helped organise the event, said that it had been a fantastic success and a great opportunity for people to meet up after many years.

She said: “It was for people from the period 1960 to 1969, either from the High School or from the ‘tech’.

“There was a really good turnout with around 80 or so people who turned out to it. I thought that was quite good.

“Everybody seemed to have a really good time. We had a buffet and Hunter McClelland and his son provided the music. There were speeches from Des Harper who taught a science class at the ‘tech’ and from Reggie McKay who is a retired music teacher.

“It was a really great night and everybody was glad to see each other after such a long time and to re-ignite old friendships.”
