Osbourne says better sports facilities are needed in city

Children in Lagan Valley have been asking Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Helen Osborne for goal posts and better sport facilities.

Mrs Osbourne was meeting young aspiring footballers last week and was overwhelmed by their simple plea for more sport facilities in green spaces across Lagan Valley.

“Our children are our future,” said Mrs Osbourne. “I simply do not understand why simple football goalposts cannot be introduced.

“We should be encouraging young people to have active lives and give them the opportunities to grow their budding skills.

“Whilst I recognise there is only so much budget for these facilities, I can be certain if I was the MP these facilities would have been introduced years ago.”

The Lagan Valley Member of Youth Parliament, Ryan Simpson added: “The lack of facilities for young people across Lagan Valley has become an issue I am hearing frequently.

“I hope that the council will listen to these children as they have one simple request and that is to play football.”
