Asda Ballyclare General Store Manager, Mary McGill, praised Peter, stating: “It’s just the type of person Peter is. He always goes above and beyond to help out our customers in the best way he can.

“He had gone away to study for university and stayed on with us as a seasonal colleague but now he is back full time as a section leader, and we’re all very happy to have him here.

“Some people are just made for retail and helping the customer on a daily-basis and Peter is one of those people.”

Talking about his stint as a delivery driver, Peter added: “As I live nearby to the customer, I didn’t see any reason why I wouldn’t help her – it would be a very easy thing for me to do, that could potentially brighten her day a lot so I thought, why not?

“When I arrived, the customer was outside waiting for me, as she was worried I had gotten lost – I thought this was very nice, and showed how appreciative she was for my help. I’m glad she was happy in the end.”
