The group was previously behind a campaign in the Larne area which saw hundreds raised for essential period products, as well as a more recent appeal for donations of sanitary items for primary schools in Carrick.

The Carrick primary school project has since been completed with boxes delivered by volunteers attached to each school.

“We are now starting to put together period care packages for secondary schools and support organisations in the Larne and Carrick areas,” said a spokesperson for the group.

“Because of current restrictions we aren’t able to have physical donation bins or drop off points yet, but we do have an Amazon wishlist where people can donate items such as pads, hot water bottles, wipes, deodorant and so on.

“Multipacks of adult size pants can be dropped off in the existing foodbank trolley in Asda and we are very grateful to the foodbank for all their help in this.

“Spare school tights can be purchased in Woodsides Larne - just let the staff at the till know they’re for donation to EqualityPeriod and they will hold them over for us to collect.”
