Hopes are high for help with this year’s Drop Inn’s Christmas Shoe Box Appeal and lots of gifts for children in Eastern Europe and Africa.

Helping out this year as a Drop Off zone, a spokesperson for Portadown firm Turkington’s said: “We are delighted to be supporting Team Hope and Portadown Drop Inn’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal, by offering our head office as a drop off zone.

"Every year the appeal sends thousands of gift-filled shoeboxes to children in Eastern Europe and Africa, sharing a little joy and excitement with children who live in circumstances where gifts can be in short supply.”

Organised by Team Hope, an Irish, Christian and child-focused international development organisation, it is hoped that people, families and communities can help build a gift-filled shoe box to send to children in various parts of the world and put a smile on children’s faces this Christmas.

For more information on what is required please check out Drop Inn Shoebox Appeal. The drop off zone is at Turkington’s in James Park on the Mahon Road, Portadown.

The closing date for donations is November 8.”
