Woman rescued from Tyrone house fire dies in hospital

A woman in her 50's who was rescued from a house fire in Dungannon on Monday has died in hospital.

Extensive damage was caused to the property in the Annaghbeg Road area of the town.

Police and emergency services responded and woman, who was the only person in the house, was taken outside where an officer administered First Aid.

Detective Inspector Paul Robinson said: "Police can confirm that a woman, aged in her 50’s, has died following a fire at a house in the Annaghbeg Road area of Dungannon on Monday evening, October 19th.

"Police received a report of a fire at a house at around 10.25 pm on Monday. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment but has since sadly passed away."

It is understood the fire is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
