Points to correct in news article

I am writing regarding the article in last week’s ‘MAIL’, entitled ‘Row over Irish presentations’. This article incorrectly indicated that I had requested a presentation from Conradh na Gaeilge and Gaelphobal an Lorgain.

I would like to clarify that the proposal for a presentation from Conradh na Gaeilge and Gaelphobal an Lorgain was in fact a request, by letter, from the groups themselves. This is a request which Sinn Fin fully support.

I would like to reiterate Sinn Fin’s support and appreciation for Irish language activists and organisations in the Craigavon area.

Such groups carry out important work in supporting and developing the Irish language. The fast growing Irish speaking community in the Craigavon area is the result of decades of hard work and commitment, and is entitled to the support and assistance of Craigavon Borough Council.
