Praise letter to RFC

COUNCILLORS have praised Ballymoney Rugby Club on winning the Powerade Towns' Cup on Easter Monday.

The team were crowned 2010 winners following a remarkable 15-14 victory in the final over Clogher Valley at Ravenhill.

Speaking at last Wednesday’s Full Council meeting, Cllr John Finlay said: “I would like to congratulate Ballymoney Rugby Club on winning the Towns’ Cup. For over 60-years, the team has been trying to win this and they have finally done it.

“The event was very well attended with bus loads of people travelling to see the match. It also brought some fantastic publicity in to the town.

“I propose we send a letter of congratulations to the club and coach as it was a tremendous achievement.”

Cllr Evelyne Robinson seconded the proposal.
