£158k of repairs to iconic chimney
Contractors have been appointed to carry out renovation and repair works to the chimney at Mossley Mill.
At their meeting on July 28, councillors were informed that the work, which will cost more than £158,000, is required to prolong the lifespan of the iconic structure.
A report presented to the meeting revealed that “the work can only be completed using specific techniques in accordance with Historic Buildings guidelines.”
The council is to apply for grant funding towards the cost of the project.
