Just after 2pm police received a report of two males riding a moped in a reckless manner in Lurgan Park.

They were travelling in excess of the 10mph speed limit and cut across the front of a play area.

When police arrived they drove off but Gervin was stopped later and admitted he had made off from police.

His solicitor said that the moped belonged to the other person but Gervin accepted what he did was reckless and incredibly stupid.

He added that the defendant had no access to any vehicle and the moped had been seized by police.

District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, ordered forfeiture of the moped.
