Talks to take place in Maghera over Halloween bonfire

Local SDLP Councillor Martin Kearney has arranged the meeting which involves householders, Housing Executive, PSNI and other statutory agencies.

“The residents are determined in their opposition to the location of this bonfire,” he said.

The bonfire is located in an area of open space in the estate.

“They (residents) were left to clean up their own property after last year’s and they simply don’t want to have to do this every again,” added the Mid Ulster councillor.
