BALLYMENA may be set to have a new TV star as a local woman has been selected for an up and coming reality TV show.

Gaynor Graham (36) has been voted onto an in-the-pipeline TV show, ‘The Only Way is Belfast’ a local version of popular ITV2 show ‘The Only Way is Essex’.

Gaynor was selected after she was nominated for the show on Facebook, she topped the vote after her legions of Facebook friends showed their support.

She said: “I am absolutely thrilled to bits, I can’t believe that I have been selected. I don’t know that much about the show but I am very excited. Filming apparently begins in August, we will be placed in a house in Belfast, that’s about all I know so far.”

The Only Way is Essex is all about glamorous girls who are obsessed about fake tan and designer clothes, however Gaynor told the Times that she is more concerned with being genuine than having fake tan.

Gaynor added: “I’m not really into all that tanning and stuff, I would say my personality is much more important. It’s probably the reason that I got selected. I like the original show, although they go out clubbing quite a bit, I’m not really into that.”

If it is to be any where near as successful as the original then the wider world might be seeing a lot of the Galgorm woman.

Although this won’t be the first time that Gaynor has been on TV, she recently took part in UTV’s 7.30 Show.

“This is my second shot at fame! I really enjoyed doing the 7.30 Show special, it was a dating show and I was in it quite a lot. I was told I was the star of the show, but I was just being myself,” she said.

Gaynor said nobody what happens she intends to do Ballymena proud, she added: “I am representing Ballymena, it will be more like the only way is Ballymena with me and my accent. I am proud of where I come from, and I promise to do the area proud. I hope everyone will support me once the show begins.”
