Ulster in Bloom 2015 honours for Whitehead gardeners
Whitehead is celebrating success in two categories of the Translink Ulster in Bloom 2015 competition.
Judges in the horticultural challenge selected Whitehead Railway Station as the winner of the Community Rail Halt Award.
The efforts of the Brighter Whitehead group, supported by the community and Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, were further rewarded with second place in the small town section of the annual contest.
Now in its 37th year, the competition attracted 163 entries representing local council areas, community groups, businesses, bus and train stations as well as nine community champion nominations.
