Villagers’ are totally appalled by hate attack says Mid Ulster councillor

Carntogher Sinn Féin councillor Sean McPeake today condemned those who carried out a ‘hate attack’ in the village of Curran.

Sectarian and homophobic slogans were sprayed on three properties overnight on Monday, according to local police.

Mr McPeake said: “These cowardly actions are totally reprehensible and should be strongly condemned. There is no place for sectarianism anywhere in our society let alone in the Curran area where locals are totally appalled as to what has occurred.

He added that he has spoken to the people targeted in the incident and offered them the support of the local community.

“I have also spoken to PSNI investigators and sought assurances that they will do all that they can to bring those perpetrators to justice,” he said.
