“We are in the final three of the Heritage category,” said Ms mcCall, adding: “We finished second in the semi-finals and the votes have been zeroed for the final voting which lasts a fortnight. I have no doubt that we are up against huge voting power, but I also have no doubt that when we go to London in November we can bring home the title as a recognition of the incalculable energy, support, generosity, expertise and commitment everybody have shown throughout the project.”

The number to call to vote from Monday onwards is 0844 836 9717, with calls costing no more than five pence. Voting can also be done online at www.lotterygoodcauses.org/awards and supporters of the project can vote as often as they would like.
