Wallace sixth formers say farewell to school

WALLACE High School Upper Sixth students started their study leave in style with a special leaving day party.

Following speeches from their Form staff Margaret Mitchell and Julie Dumigan, the pupils watched clips from their Charity show ‘Christmas Pie’ which raised funds for Childline/NSPCC. They also enjoyed performances from Upper Sixth bands and a short film which captured humorous aspects of school life.

The teenagers then enjoyed coffee with their subject teachers and were wished well in their forthcoming A Level examinations by Principal, Mrs Deborah O’Hare. They then moved out into the school grounds where they enjoyed a barbecue and games.

Nathan Dickson from the Upper Sixth Committee commented,” We’re all sorry to leave Wallace and I hope the Class of 2010 will keep in touch with each other and the Wallace community. The next chapter of our lives is an exciting prospect – we’ve been well prepared for life by our experiences at Wallace.”

Head Boy Jamie Clements commented: ” We’d like to thank Mrs Dumigan for all her hard work in organising our final day celebrations. It was certainly a day to remember and gave us a chance to unwind together before the rigours of our A Levels.”

The event was sponsored by the school's thriving Parent Teacher Association.

Year 14 committee member Sophie McClean paid tribute to the support of the PTA: "We really appreciate the support offered by the PTA in helping us fund such a memorable day."
