Was rushing to get schoolbag
Noel Robert Howard Thompson (50, Diamond Road, was fined £200 last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court for the offence.
He was also given six points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

Hide AdThe court heard he was travelling at 95mph in a 70mph zone on the A1 dual carriageway on September 8 last year. When he was stopped he apologised to police and said he did not realise the speed he was doing.He explained his child had forgotten a schoolbag and he was rushing to get to the school.
A solicitor representing Thompson said that when he heard the child was in a distressed state as a parent he reacted the way he did.
